Important Japanese Ivory Okimono - priest
Outstanding Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) hand carved and very fine carved Tokyo school ivory Okimono of a seated priest with a fan and a koro on a log in front of him, signed by an artist The Okimono is fantastically detailed, stylized and has a scrimshaw work on man's clothes. Please see the pictures. There is a red-lacquer signature on a bamboo-like carpet bottom of the okimono. All tiny age hairlines are old and closed; no damages, losses, or restorations. 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/4" wide x 3" deep.
