Magnificent Japanese Bronze Box with mix-metal inlays
Magnificent Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) mixed-metal inlaid (shakudo, copper, silver and gold) Bronze oval-shaped Box, signed by the artist. It depicts a design of a paradise bird flying above flowers, tree with leaves and blossoms. Flowers are made with shakudo, partly gilded copper, and silver. The bird has copper and silver inlaid elements as well. The interior of the box has a darker color of patina. The box has no damages; it closes tight . 5" x 4" x 2 1/8" tall
