| Top quality Japanese very fine Meiji Period (1868-1912) Satsuma basket-shaped Incense Burner (Koro) with multiple piercing on sides and on a silver lid (pierced in a shape of flowers and leaves). The Koro has beautifully-painted fan-shaped decorative panels. One panel depicts women and a child looking at flowers and another panel has an aristocrat lady, a servant and a child. The upper part of the handle on both sides are decorated with Bamboo, leaves and other symbolic decorations. The top of the handle is made in a shape of a nut. There are floral and other decorations on the lower part of the koro. The seal and signature of the artist are underneath of the koro. 5 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" D. | |||||||||||||||
