Ensemble of very old and fine ancient carved bone ornaments and implements. I doubt if these all came from the same site but I bought them all from the same source. Obviously of interest to the specialist collector, these all date within the 1st millennium BCE or earlier, as follows….. 1# arched carved pendant depicting facing mythical beasts. Based on similarities to jade images this piece dates circa Eastern Zhou/Warring States (770 BCE-221 BCE), there are two repairs on each side, possib ...click for details

Good ensemble of quartz, and glass beads from Thailand. I purchased these in Mae Sot along the Thai/Burmese border which means they are probably from the Tak Hilltop Burial Sites, dating them circa 1100-1300CE. This area was part of ancient trading route in which, Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese and Chinese ceramics have been found together in the same strata. Most of glass beads are of Chinese origin while the stone beads are probably much older (late bronze age circa 600CE), but have been trade ...click for details

Circa 10th CE whitish grey nephrite horse strap fitting, this style is usually associated with the non Han nomadic cultures such as the Liao, Jin, and Mongols. The stone appears to have been treated to bring out the black striations in the stone, which was typical of the time. Some clever bunny in China has repolished it which is a pity, but still a nice piece made of good stone. Please note scale in last enlargement is metric.

Fine ensemble of very long carnelian and agate late Bronze Age beads (circa 100 CE to 500 CE) from Cambodia. Similar examples (especially of the carnelian) have been excavated through Southeast Asia with datings as early as 200BCE from Yunnan, Dian Culture, suggesting they may have been widely traded over a long period of time. The spacer beads are of the period glass and shell. Some of the beads have a few chips and pits but over all are in excellent condition given their age and fr ...click for details
