Chinese steel single piece constructed saber or Dadao with ring pommel and separately forged hilt circa Qing Dynasty. There are two pieces of wood or bamboo on the handle which have been wrapped with a strip of hand spun cotton for better gripping. Exceptionally fine Northern Thai/Lanna knife. The bronze handle dates to 18th century or earlier so in the context of Greater Thai history it would be the Ayutthaya period. I had the damascene blade and burl wood and buffalo horn scabbard added by Thai master craftsmen in Bangkok; these components are made with the highest quality materials available. Good circa Western Zhou to Warring States small bronze knives (1100 BCE-221 BCE). These are functional knives with decent edges (albeit a few have chips), the bronze is in excellent condition and not brittle with the handles, backs and spines on these being quite sturdy. Fine old Thai dagger with polished deer antler handle. The steel blade is excellent condition with a good edge, set into the handle using a traditional tree resin mixture and a copper band, circa 80 years old. There are a few age cracks in the handle and knocks on the copper band. L: 29cm/11.2in.

Rare Khmer knife with original bronze sheath bindings. Please see enlargements to view finely incised pattern on handle and fittings, the pommel ends with rather unusual abstract animal or human face. The blade is quite crusty as is with most Khmer iron artifacts, but the bronze is in excellent condition. L: 24cm/9.5cm. Included is a museum quality perspex stand.
