Fine and rare complete set of 38 black and white plates on hard paper, loose leafed box set of Chinese Baskets, published by the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago by Berthold Laufer- Curator of Anthropology, 1925. There is a two page text preface. All the prints are in mint condition and there is one minor scuff on the box edge. Each print may be individually framed. 31cm/12in x 23cm/9in.

Exceptionally fine and rare gold stater from the brief Kidarite Kingdom circa 360 CE- 380 CE. The Kidarites were also referred to as the Red Huns, displaced the Kushans in Pakistan and Afghanistan only later to be pushed out by the Hepthalites (White Huns). The image of Kidara (founder of the Kidarites, doh!) is on one side and a seated Goddess Ardoksho on the reverse. Superb quality and condition D: 2.3cm.
