Pair of very fine and rare matching Jizhou jars circa 13th to 14th CE, Southern Song to Yuan dynasties. Pristine condition and possibly “one of kind”. The bodies are porcelaneous very light gray stoneware, with a striking dark brown glaze and café au lait splashes as well as some tortoiseshell undertones (please note last enlargement for this). The inside of the jars are covered in a clear glaze about two thirds up towards the mouth. H: 10.3cm/4.1in and D: 12cm/4.8in.
