| At quick glance one thinks an early Native American or Mexican Taxco ring? One look at the ornate foliate shank and applied silver leaves at the shoulders tells a different story. The ornate shank is original to the piece. This foliate design has been seen on signed Peruzzi; the Italian one using 80% or 800, while the American using 925 sterling. Another clue is that the genuine coral is not the usual color often seen in South West work yet often seen in continental jewelry. There is applied rope around the 20mm bezel set coral stone. Age it has and it is not new! A wonderful ring to wear to invite speculation as to its origin. Tests at ~90% silver but could be higher. Presently sized at ~9, yet could be resized by your jeweler. Including the 12 domes setting it is ~ 1 1/8”. Very nice unpolished vintage condition.
