This ivory-handled cane features a boxer with a red glass eye in relief on the handle. The dog's left front paw is broken off, but all else in excellent condition. The shaft is connected to the handle with a gilt metal collar. Normal wear: American, c. 1880. Length of cane, 35". Width of the ivory handle: 4 1/4".

A fine English Late Nineteenth Century Georgian Style rosewood inlaid balloon clock, circa 1880. The balloon form case with a pagoda top and pineapple finial is elaborately inlaid with urns, cornucopia, and floral elements. The base is fitted with gilt bronze moldings and four short scrolled acanthus feet. Condition: The works have been cleaned and are in good working order. This folding lorgnette (the lenses fold back into the handle for safe-keeping), has a rather unusual design with silver overlay in swirls and loops along the length of the handle. The handle measures 8 1/4" and is in very good condition with only a small amount of the silver overlay missing at the very top. English or Continental, c. 1875.

A rather stylized egyptian pharonic head rests on a round disk base supported by the tips of the hair/headdress and the goatee extended as a foot; really a most creative design for this object, which is actually an inkwell. Difficult to see in the picture are the two greyhound heads with are the handle for tipping the top open. An Early Eighteenth Century Continental Engraved Brass Sun Dial, Dated 1713. The octagonal plate is engraved with the face of the sun. The chapter ring is engraved with Roman Numerals and the inscription " Docet Umbria " 1713. The sun dial has a deeply oxidized surface and is in very good condition. The gnomen is attached to the plate with two screws.
