A Late 18th or Early 19th Century American Federal Period walnut slope lid desk, Middle Atlantic or Southern Circa 1800. The desk with a wide slightly sloped working surface/lid, concealing an interior well fitted with small drawers. The frieze fitted with a long drawer decorated with a line inlay at the perimeter. The drawer with brass bail handles. The legs are squared with a slight taper. Condition: very good with a fine old finish. The secondary wood is yellow pine suggesting a possible Southern origin.
