A rather stylized egyptian pharonic head rests on a round disk base supported by the tips of the hair/headdress and the goatee extended as a foot; really a most creative design for this object, which is actually an inkwell. Difficult to see in the picture are the two greyhound heads with are the handle for tipping the top open. It is manufactured of bronze, with high patina, indicative of a late, Nineteenth Century casting. It is unmarked and in excellent condition. It measures 5" in diameter, and 5 1/2" in height.
