| A spectacular Art Deco diamond and platinum drop pendant lorgnette, circa 1920. The drop pendant slide, suspended from a black silk cord, has a clear rock quartz center fitted with a (0.50 ct.)Old European round brilliant cut diamond at its center. The quartz has a platinum bezel fitted with 26 diamonds,( est. wt. 0.55 ct t.w.) The platinum lorgnette is attached just below with a hinged clasp. The double glass frame is chased and is surmounted with a filigree crown set with an Old European round brilliant cut (.35 ct.)diamond. Eight additional single cut diamonds (total ct. 0.12.) are set within the crown. The silk cord retains its original platinum top clasp and fittings. Condition: Excellent. Dimensions of slide pendant: H 1", W 1/2". Lorgnette: H 2 1/8", W 1". The pendant can be worn separately as the lorgnette detaches with the lower clasp. A full gemological assessment and appraisal accompany the lorgnette. The appraised replacement value is $14,500. | ||||||||
