A very fine antique Victorian carved carnelian cameo pendant in a 14K gold tri color elaborate frame. The pendant hangs from a tear drop ring with a floral and acanthus applique. The edge of the bezel frame is decorated with an applied rope twist. The carving of the portrait bust is very finely done. The cameo is surrounded by a leaf and rosette wreath in rose, white and yellow gold. The back of the pendant is fitted with a picture reserve with clear glass. The piece tests 14K and has no marks. It measures 2 3/8" from the top of the ring to the bottom of the pendant. The oval portion measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/2". It weighs 25.4 grams and is in excellent condition. The piece dates c. 1860.
