This sterling silver card case is a one-of-a-kind treasure! It features a jovial monk at the dining table, complete with a stein, a bowl of fruit and either a cigar or large cigarette in his hand. The entire front of the case is covered in beautifully engraved billows of smoke. The details of the monk's face are wonderful, right down to the crinkle of his crows feet when he smiles. This is a beautiful hallmarked sterling card case from the Art Nouveau period. Two women swim in the swirl of a repousse ocean wave. Next to it are three beautifully engraved initials. On the back, there is a sterling mark with the number 1281 and a mark that has been somewhat rubbed out, but is possibly that of William Kerr. The case measures 3 inches by 1 5/8 inches and is slightly curved.

Beautifully crafted, this three dimensional sterling box is a wearable piece of art. The interior is gilt, with a hallmark for Gaston Bardies, a Frenchman whose shop was located at 13 rue des Fontaines in Paris, from 1897 until 1914. The box measures 1 9/16" in diameter and weighs 18.2 grams. Condition is excellent. Suspended on a sterling chain or a velvet cord, this precious box would be not only beautiful, but also functional.

This is a lovely Victorian sterling card case. In the center is a an idyllic lake scene, complete with trees, mountains and canoe. The scene is beautifully framed by an embellished shield. The case has engraved, patterned stripes over both the front and back sides.
The box measures 3 1/16" by 2 1/16". There is a small ping on the back, otherwise it is in very good vintage condition. It even comes in it's own original fitted box!
