The rich contrast of golden flecks against the deep blue lapis lazuli in these lovely vintage earrings is reminiscent of a glimpse of earth from the heavens. The lapis is framed in 14k yellow gold, with three small diamonds accents set in white gold. The lapis measures 9/16” in diameter and the height, including the diamonds, is 11/16”. A fabulous find, this original Swedish Plique-à-jour bee takes flight on translucent, yellow-green wings. The bee's body and wing tips shimmer with sparkling marcasites. The body and filigree of the wings are silver. The brooch is hallmarked with Swedish hallmarks, including a maker's mark, the national mark, the silver standard, and Y8, indicating that it was made in 1949.
