| What a beautiful piece of gold quartz this is! Measuring 18.5 mm X 13 mm, the quartz piece is more than 2/3 covered in gold. Set in the original Victorian 14k rose gold mounting with interesting engraved detail at the top of the shoulders, it is a very appealing piece of jewelry. In a few places, it appears that the veins of the quartz reach the surface of the stone, a common characteristic of this material. This is a simple, understated ring which rightly features this desirable stone. The more gold that is evident in a piece of gold quartz, the more desirable and valuable is the stone. This stone was discovered during the gold rush in the late 19th century and collectors world wide coveted this early gem because of its scarcity. The ring is currently a size 10 1/4-10 1/2 and can easily be sized. It weighs a hefty 9 grams and is in very good antique condition.
