| A symbol of hope in Victorian times, the anchor has also been associated with the navy and seafaring. Crafted in 9k yellow gold, this is a very special and dramatic Victorian seal. The fob measures 1 1/2 “ tall (from the top bead to the inset carnelian) and the base measures 1 1/16 “ by 15/16”. Weight is 20.4 grams. There is a flat carnelian on the bottom with a difficult to decipher carved, ornate monogram, which is difficult to decipher. A split O ring is attached to the fob which adds another option for attaching the seal to a chain. The grand scale of this gold fob dictates that, originally, it was most likely worn by a man. Today, women are not shy about making a bold statement and this would be fabulous for a man or a woman, worn on a heavy gold watch chain or a black velvet cord. | |||||||||
