Superb A Pair of Kannon and Seishi Bosatsu Images 16C.
Very fine a pair of wooden Kannon and Seishi Bosatsu statue. Muromachi Period. They are attendants of Amida in the Amida triad. (Amida Sanzon) Kannon Bosatsu with a lotus or a water jar in his hands is usually positioned on the left and Seishi Bosatsu with hands clasped is on the right of Amida. The appearance to bend the waist of these images is very unique. Yosegi Zukuri wood construction with gilt. The gilt remains in some places on the surface of the statue, and the Patina is fascinating . Total Dimensions: H. 41 2/3 inch (106cm) Dais: 7 4/5 inch (20cm) Sculpture: 33 4/5 inch (86cm). The condition is good.
