Very fine German imperial cut glass vase--blue cut to clear--the two eagles are raised from the glass as well as trimmed bases and lip with heraldic shields --base glass is frosted crackle--12 inches high--5 inch diameter at top tapering to 3 inch base---condition is perfect--minor wear to inside of base supports age--blue glass is highlighted with gold--since there are two different crests repeated at top and bottom of piece, this vase most likely celebrates a royal union--fascinating useful object from a rich cultivated past--ca 1880s
