Rare Romanesque style German bronze jewelery casket encrusted with 90 cabachone shaped semi precious stones-stones include turquoise, quartz,citrine, agats,amethyest, lapis, opal, tiger eye, aventurine-no stones are missing-box was made ca 1860-70s but was engraved on lock as a gift INEZ FROM KARL DEC 25 1921 BERLIN-has clean tufted velvet interior-Germanic script W inscribed on top-Design includes 12 apostles under arches surmounted with 12 Zodiac signs-box is decorated on front, back, top and sides with stones everywhere. Very decorative--Romanesque architecture like this box is characterized by three words HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY-no condition problems-has bronze bottom.--no key but box opens-9.5 inches by 4.5 inches by 5 inches
