Rare East Indian ivory inlay 10-sided rosewood box-has intricate ivory East Indian scrolling as well 11 Hindu deities- god on on top is unknown-the others are Narisimha-Varaha-Vamana-Parasuram-Rama-Rurma-Matsya-Kalki-Krishna-Balarama--all these gods are in ivory and wood inlay and named on sides-10 chip carved exotivx birds carved on each side-24 inches accross-22 inches high-inside cloth-box opens two ways-cloth inside replaced- only top has been revarnished-sides have not and arm brace to hold up lid was added later-ca 1900 or earlier--piece took months to create and may have ceremonial use- made by high skilled craftsman with the best materials-no condition problems

high quality period Napoleon III secretaire abbatant-mother- of-pearl-inlay with bronze highlights cut into surface-bronze ormolu escuteheons and decorative bronzes on upper corners- writing surface is covered with leather-locks original-keys are not-minor rough spots on veneer on outside but overall condition is good-inside drawer inlaid wood design-these pieces were used when there was limited space as it combines a desk with storage-marble top is breche de alpine no longer quarried- 48 inches high-25.25 wide-13 inches deep--when desk is open it extends to 26 inches-rare find
