19thc ivory carved Chinese brush holder or bitong--made from elephant tusk nearest the skull-stained with tea color to impart fossil ivory-carved garden scenes, birds, rocks and bamboo plants-form is intentionally irregular and imparts the form of a rugged Chinese mountain landscape-piece is signed on bottom-- 6 inches high and 2.75 inch diameter-traces of black ink inside indicating use-minor wear to stain where handled-no condition problems or repairs-good quality-heavy-stands easily
