Very nice-18thc charcoal drawing of angel head blowing horn on sanguine old paper-framed in antique gold leaf frame that has nicks-drawing has minor crimping in lower left hand corner-very small tear at top near center at margin above hair-17 inches by 22 inches-add 4 inches all around for frame and mat--if you are a Mormon,it's okay to call him Maroni

This is a costume design executed for Ballet Russe by Russian artist Leon Bakst [1866-1924]-Bakst is listed and included world museums-has extensive sales record-he was a well known artist with a half page in Beneziet-piece is ca 1910-is unsigned brought from London collection to Puerto Rico-painting on paper in water color, ink, charcoal, quoache-penciled notes on paper in French that it is a design for Turkish dancer-other notes about material-part of foot currently covered by mat--wrapped in cellophane- except for foxing in upper left corner, no condition problems-21.5 by 15 inches without mat-rare piece seldom found outside collections
