| PAGAN STANDING BUDDHA Country: Burma Period: 11th-12th century Height: 72 cm. With wooden base:85 cm. Material: Copper alloy, gold diadem, red copper lips, silver and black shell inlaid eyes. Standing bronze Buddha image wearing a silk cloth which softly covers the whole body. The hands are in the classical Pagan style mudra, the right hand in abbhaya mudra, a gesture of protection and the left, holding the edge of this robe. Tight curls and ushisha crowns the head typically topped by a small lotus leaf. Patina untouched is crusty and beautiful brownish colour. All in perfect condition. This is an exceptional piece and absolutely guarantee regarding the age and provenance. | ||
