This is an extremely rare Egyptian wood carving of the god Ptah-Sokar-Osiris with a plumed crown and ram horns. It dates to 664-525 BC. It measures 57.7 cm in height (22.7"), 23.3 cm at its widest and 10.2 cm at its greatest depth. The wood has 6 different pigments that have been painted onto the wood in intricate designs. This Roman cosmetic bone spoon was found by Dr. Allen Heflin on 9-12-63. It still has traces of blueish-green pigments which did not show up in the photos. It is 4 1/4" long. A fine item from a famous collection.

This fine Roman Bone figural carving is a plaque of Hygieia. She is holding a phiale and draped in a garment, C100BC-100AD is 4 3/8" high and 1 1/4" wide. It has a yellowed patina and has been repaired across the neck area which is common.

This extremely rare frame of bone is from the 1st century through Byzantine. The Roman goddess has independent movable balls in the cage and is extremely delicate and very fine. It was purchased in Luxembourg. Many were found by the world famous Dr. Allen Heflin while he was stationed in Rome. This is a once-in-a-lifetime find that took me many years to assemble.
