| These extremely rare beaded chaps are maker marked H H Heiser out of Denver, Colorado. Coming to Colorado during the Gold Rush of 1858-59, German immigrant Herman H. Heiser ultimately became one of the West's best known saddle makers. The chaps are made from brain-tanned deer hide and are beaded in what appears to be a Cheyenne pattern. There are a few small moth nips on the back side, but not serious, and merely expose the white of the original brain-tanned hide which is otherwise a uniform gray. These are quite heavy and are mounted in a custom made locking frame with UV blocking glass. The bead work is quite impressive and very artistic. | ||
