This original watercolor painting measures 15 by 22 inches.
It dates circa 1930-1950. It is from a regional style of painting found primarily in California, but not limited to California in both location and subject matter.
It is painted on heavy stamp watermarked French watercolor paper ( see enlarged photo of stamp).
It is in excellent condition, unsigned and unframed.
This original painting (it is NOT a glycee or print of any kind) is in the style of the early 20th Century painters such as Rex Brandt or Herbert Vincent Olsen. It may have been done by a student or follower of Brandt or Olsen. Both were prolific art teachers and, as such, influenced many new artists at the time.
On the reverse is a strip of masking tape which appears to be possible matting and / or framing directions. In addition on the tape are the names Rex Brandt and Herb Olsen. This is just for information purposes -we are not attributing this painting to either artist at this time.

This original oil painting on artist's canvas panel measures 11 x 14 inches and is framed 13 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches.
It is signed J. Guzman in the lower left corner.
Juan "Pepe" Guzman is a contemporary California artist.
His strong use of color and light is influenced by both his Chilean background and his California roots.
His paintings are a mix of Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauve colors and a dash of California Plein Air.
It is in OUTSTANDING CONDITION, period.

This original contemporary Chinese ink and watercolor painting measures 26 by 26 inches,and 31 by 70 inches, including the silk brocaded scroll it is mounted on.
It has the seal and signature of the artist, Zhao Bin (1939- )on the right hand edge. It also has one collector's seal in the lower left corner.
The subject is a view of temples in a high mountain landscape shrouded in fog.
It is in excellent condition,with the exception of a few marks on the scroll, but not on the painting itself.

This original oil painting on stretched canvas measures 15 by 21 inches, unframed.
It is in excellent condition with no damage, flaking, losses or repairs. The varnish is a bit dry and it's colors would improve with a new coat of varnish, but we will leave that decision to the new owner.
It is signed O'loughlin 52 in the lower right corner.
(Thomas) O'loughlin is a listed California Artist in Davenport's Art Reference & Price Guide (1994-5 Edition). This is a loose attribution and not verified. This painting was purchased about 35 years ago in Southern California.
This original California School oil painting is painted on artist's canvas board measures 16 by 20 inches and it sits in a 22 by 26 inch frame.
It is unsigned and in excellent condition, except for a few scuffed areas on the frame.
If this outstanding old oil painting was executed in shades of green, rather than blue, we would probably assume it was done by William Wendt or by a student of his, in his style.

It is signed lower left, Verna Evans.
Verna Evans was an artist living in San Marino, California during the early to middle 20th century. She was a student of Millard Sheets and also exhibited at local art shows in San Bernardino County.
This is only one work from a folio collection purchased many years ago from a local estate.
This original work of art consists of a painting applied over what appears to be a serigraph. It is interesting in that the artist who signed and gifted it to his friends at the bottom, was known to be proficient in both mediums: print and watercolor or gouache.
It measures 13 by 19 inches (image only) on an 18 by 24 inch panel board.
It is signed: Jara Valenta, on the lower right portion of the panel. It is also signed: To Teresa and Frans, lower left.
Jaroslav Henry Valenta was born May 23, 1899 in Czechoslovakia. He is listed in Who Was Who in American Art as a Brooklyn artist.
He was also listed as a member of the America Artist's Congress ( est 1936).
He exhibited works at the Federal Art Gallery in New York City and the American Artists Congress. He is also listed as a WPA Artist.
Jaroslav (Yaroslav) Henry Valenta (1899- )is listed in Davenport's Art Reference and Price Guide. He is also listed on Artprice.Com. In addition, he has work held in the Smithsonian Art Collection.
