This sterling silver belt buckle measures 2 by 3 inches.

It is a simple classic pattern in worked silver.

It is stamped with the monogram HB and sterling on the reverse. We don't know the name of the specific artist, but the name Herbert Begaye and a few others have been suggested by knowledgeable sources. We estimate it as circa 1950-1970, but it may actually be earlier.

It is not very heavy, weighing just over an ounce, but it is strong, well designed and a classic pattern. It is in excellent condition, period.
