Song to Early Ming Dynasty Jade Carving of an Ox

This antique jade carving of a reclining ox or water buffalo measures 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall by about 2.5 inches in depth.

This classic jade carving dates to the Song Dynasty (980 AD -1279 AD) or the early portion of the Ming Dynasty (1368 AD - 1644 AD).

It is in excellent condition with subtle details and carving.

This carving may have begun it's existence as a much whiter color, but time and oxidation have worked to give it a lovely pale caramel color. This nephrite jade carving is now a pale caramel color with subtle inclusions and minor color changes.
