Ancient Egypt. A mummified human foot of a youth, Ptolemaic, c.4th – 2nd Century BC. Nicely preserved with most of the skin and nails intact. Second toe missing and ankle bone visible. On the bottom of the foot a thick layer of resin soaked leather, perhaps the soles of a sandal. L: 6” (15.1 cm).

Ancient Egypt. A nice stone ‘two fingers’ amulet, Late Period, c. 664 – 30 BC, representing the index and middle finger, the nails nicely delineated. Intact. L: 2 1/4” (5.7 cm). According to Andrews, this amulet types may refer to the two fingers of the embalmer, as it is often found near the incision hole on mummies. It may also be there to protect a very vulnerable part of the mummy.

A pair of Near Eastern crème buff vessels. The first is an Early Bronze Age cup, c. 3,100 – 2,200 BC, possessing a wide shallow body with everted rim and a rounded loop handle with a horn shaped point. Intact with a few rim chips. Dia: 5 1/2” (13.9 cm). The second example a Herodian spouted jug with constricted neck, vertical rim, single handle and small disk base. Intact, small rim chip. 4 7/8” (12.3 cm); Both Ex- Touma Dabbah Collection, acquired in the 1960’s.

A choice Early Bronze Age I / II red buff storage jar, Near East, c. 3,100 – 2,900 BC, with two strap handles on vertical neck, ovoid body with flattened base and two ledge handles. H: 11” (27.2 cm). Intact with earthen encrustation. Cf. R. Hendrix, "Ancient Pottery of Transjordan," (1997), p. 105; Ex- Touma Dabbah Collection, acquired in the 1960’s. A large and handsome piece!

A red-ware Roman lamp with she-wolf and twins, 2nd – 3rd Century AD. Mouldmade and of cruder construction, disk deeply set with raised fill hole below wolf and twins. Handle adorned with a central flower. On base, maker’s mark OCTAVI set within 3 circles. L; 3 3/4” (9.5 cm). Some minor chipping and earthen encrustation.

Ancient Egypt. A pair of Djed columns, the symbol of the god Osiris. Both examples are missing the base of the column, the larger is of wood and nicely incised, 7 x 4.5 cm, and second is of blue faience, 3.7 x 2.9 cm.

Ancient Egypt. A bronze arm from statue holding erect cobra, Graeco-Roman, c.1st Century BC/AD. The cobra (uraeus) is finely detailed with solar disc headdress, tail wound around the wrist of the extended arm. Small pin at base of arm suggests it was part of a larger figure. L: 2 3/4” (7 cm); H: 3 3/8” (8.8 cm). Nicely mounted to a custom wooden base.

A North African lamp with crouching lion, Roman, c.2nd Century AD. Mouldmade with concave disc featuring a crouching lion above filling hole. Shoulder decorated with radiating eggs around molding grooves, small loop handle at back. Short round-tipped nozzle with large wick hole/ Slightly raised flat base with uninscribed planta pedis. L: 3 3/4” (9.5 cm). Intact, cream-yellow clay with remains of brown slip.
