A lot of 2 2nd Intermediate steatite scarabs, c. 1750 - 1570 BC. The first with Horus kneeling between two erect cobras, 16 x 11mm, intact, no glaze. The second of tabular form with pseudo-signs on the base, 10 x8mm. Nicely carved for its small size. Ex Los Angeles private collection.

A pair of 2nd Intermediate scarabs, c.1750 - 1570 BC. The first is of steatite with a lion and crocodile on base. 15 x 11mm, minor chip. The second piece is faience with hieroglyphs on the base, may be later. 15 x 10mm. Ex coll. Albert F. Pagnon, Luxor, acquired in the 1860’s; Ex Seaby.

Lot includes a steatite amulet of Bes with nice detail and remains of blue glaze; a faience amulet of the head of a falcon wearing a solar disk; and a double-headed sow amulet. Each is intact with a hole for suspension. Largest measures 23mm in length. Ex Thomas Collingwood collection, Philadelphia, acquired before 1970.

An attractive faience amulet of a baboon, Late Period, c. 664 - 343 BC, sitting on its haunches, holding a Wedjat, or 'Eye of Horus’ to his chest. Nicely detailed with suspension loop at back of his head. Losses to the feet. 1 3/8" (3.5 cm). Mounted on an antique base. Ex collection of Elennore-de-Mot (1903-1987), archaeologist.

An interesting faience ushabti, Late Period - Ptolemaic, c. 404 - 30 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite headdress and false beard, arms crossed over chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, bag over left shoulder. Of blocky construction with “T-Style" inscription and areas of remaining blue-green color. Intact and a neat late example! Ex English private collection, acquired in the 1960’s & 1970’s.
