A terracotta male head and an Apis Bull, Roman Period, 1st - 2nd Century AD, the head of the bull depicted wearing a solar headdress, the male head with naturalistic detail. The head of the Apis Bull intact with traces of dressing, H: 4 3/4" (12.1 cm), the male head with some weathering, H: 3 "Ptolemaic and Roman terracottas from Egypt in the British Museum", pl. 130, no. 3719. Ex old English private collection, purchased in Egypt in the early 20th Century.

An attractive terracotta figure of Bes, Ptolemaic Period, c. 2nd - 1st Century BC, naked, wearing a feathered headdress, standing with hands on his knees. The back is unmodelled with circular vent, the base with some losses. H: 5 7/8" (14.9 cm). Beautifully detailed with excellent style and traces of red pigment. Cf. Bailey, "Ptolemaic and Roman terracottas from Egypt in the British Museum", pl. 15, no. 3085; Ex Northern California private collection.
