A fragment of a stamped terracotta tile or brick, Roman-Byzantine, c. 4th - 7th Century AD, the partial inscription reading '…KON… XAΛK…’, The bottom of the piece retains the original edge. Light deposits throughout. 5 7/8" x 5" (14.9 cm). Ex Dr. Gilles collection, Germany, acquired in the 1950’s - 60’s.

A Roman terracotta figure of a lady, c. 3rd Century AD, veiled, wearing a long gown, her hands grasping the voluminous folds. She wears a serene expression, her hair styled back in ridges, her necklace just visible above the top of her gown. H: 6 1/2" (16.4 cm). Small area of 19th century restoration on the back, probably incorporating the air vent. Nice style and detail. Ex old English private collection.

A lot of 8 bronze & iron fibulae. Lot includes a rare Italic plate brooch, c. 10th - 8th Century BC (Hattatt (1987), no. 1353), 4 other bronze Italic types, c. 8th - 5th Century BC (Hattatt (1987), no. 198-9), a pair of Aucissa types from the 1st Century AD, one in iron, and last a bronze fibula with iron pin from eastern Europe. Largest measures 3 3/8" (8.6 cm). Some without pins but a nice mixed group, the first type very rarely offered! Ex Los Angeles private collection.

Lot includes a stylus with nicely incised handle, a probe with angled end and incised decoration, and four needle with small rectangular hole for threading. Also included is a Luristan clothes pin, late 2nd Millennium BC, with terminal in the form of a capped globe. Largest measures 7 1/4" (18.5 cm). Ex Los Angeles private collection.

The first is the end of a steelyard scale with suspension loop and three hooks, L: 8 1/2" (21.6 cm); the second a bronze rod with 7 ridges, part of some tool or implement, L: 7 3/4" (19.5 cm). Both with old collection labels indicating the provenance as Cyrene, North Africa (Libya). Ex Dr. Gilles Collection, Germany, acquired during the 1950’s & 60’s.
