| An Anatolian black-ware pottery jar, c. 3rd Millennium BC, the body spherical with two opposing pierced lugs and a small nipple, the neck wide and cylindrical with two opposing perforations just below the flared mouth, on three conical legs. The vessel is decorated with incised designs including two bands of triangles and a major zigzag pattern around the side of the body. An area of repair on the side of the body and near the rim, one leg restored and one reattached. A very rare and desirable vessel! Ex Dr. Gilles Collection, Germany, acquired during the 1950’s & 60’s. | |||||
