The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, also known as Guanyin, is standing in the lotus position, the left hand raised with with one finger joining the thumb, a gesture generally associated with teaching, while the other hand rests on the the thigh and holds the bottle containing the Elixir of Immortality. The figure is dressed in a single robe with flowing drapes partially covering the crown head, and wears refine jewelry. It rests on a bronze lotus base.
