| Superb Imari porcelain bowl richly decorated.Measures 10" Dia Height 4".Circa 1890 .Inside alternating panels in deep Ironstone red and underglazed blue.The red panels are large and feature a cartouche outlined in deep blue trimmed in gold.Inside the cartouche is a large Ho-Ho bird.On each side of these cartouches are two magnificant dragons,richly decorated enamels apricots,greens,black,reds and gilding.Pairing with the Dragons are stylized clouds.The alternating blue panels feature a large array of floral motifs.complete with Peonies, green leaves and other decorative designs.The central rondel has a deep Ironstone red,blue,gilding,some greens,apricots as well.The outside bowl is equally decorated with Peonies in gold and apricots.red ground cartouches,large underglaze blue and green leaves all trimmed and outlined in gilding.The foot rim has a fret design and the base is signed with a underglaze blue mark.Condition:Excellent,some firing glaze lines(not cracks) on the very bottom of the bowl.Total loss of gilding to rim. | ||
