$35.00

This is a pressed cardboard calendar top which was made in Germany around 1950. It was made to be used with a small calendar pad but such a pad was never attached to this top. Perhaps because this particular 'Merry Christmas' design was produced for export. Therefore there are no holes or markings at the bottom. Such decorations were recycled, when the year came to an end, as wall decorations in subsequent years. The decoration is air-brushed and decorated with glitter. It is marked ' ...click for details

This handsome fellow has a composition body covered with fluffy white cotton. He is 3 inches tall with a green paper collar around his neck and 4 wooden stick legs. He is in very nice condition, but his coat is not so white because he has celebrated many Christmases. And those under trees with dripping candles. So there is a bit of candle wax on his coat as wel ...click for details

In Victorian times play was forbidden on the Sabbath, so many times Noah's Ark was a special "Sunday Toy". It became a very popular toy and was imported to the United States from Erzgebirge, Germany. That is where the ring-turned lathe process was invented. This process is still being used today. First a lathed ring with precise small grooves and indentations is produced. Then slices are cut from this ring. Each of these slices is then carved into animals particular to the ring. T ...click for details
