What a treat to have a chain of train cars to trim your tree! These beads date from the late 1940s or early 1950s and were made from original molds - most likely Czech but possibly German. The cars are silvered and have windows and trim painted red and green. The tops of the cars are gold. There is a silver bead between each car. One car is broken but all of the other cars are in wonderful condition. The chain is 58 inches long.

This is a pressed cardboard calendar top which was made in Germany around 1950. It was made to be used with a small calendar pad but such a pad was never attached to this top. Perhaps because this particular 'Merry Christmas' design was produced for export. Therefore there are no holes or markings at the bottom. This Belsnickle or Santa is on his way to deliver toys to good boys and girls and not such a happy treat to bad ones. He has his toy sack on his back and a switch in hand.
