This delicate pastel majolica ribbon plate has a washed blue edge which is made up of forget-me-nots. The larger flowers near the center are violets. The plate is 6 5/8 inches in diameter. The edges are smooth and there is little or no crazing, but there are some flea bites on the upper surfaces. Nonetheless these flaws do not detract from the overall appearance. The plate is marked with the V&B marking for Schramberg and 'Made in Germany'. Circa 1910 or earlier.

Instead of putting a nightie under one's pillow it was custom to put the nightie into a lovely embroidered pillow sham. Such a nice custom even today. This envelope sham measures 13 ˝ inches x 10 ˝ inches. The embroidery work on the sham is in perfect condition as is the hemstitch around the edge. The body of the pillow is cotton and the flap appears to be linen. The flap is connected to the body by perfect buttonhole stitches (see photograph). The condition is excellent. Circa: 1920-1930.

These wonderful linen damask napkins (5 available) are the large European size: approximately 25 ˝ inches x 27 inches. At this size they could also be used as decorative small cloths for a table or as tea towels. The monogram (CG) is beautifully worked and in perfect condition. Actually the napkins appear never to have been used and are therefore as good as new! Circa: 1900- 1910.

What a knock-out this stunning uranium or vaseline glass siphon is!?! The bottle with its original pewter cap is 13 inches tall. The cap is printed with the inscriptions ' E. DEBORDEAUX; VERNEUIL s/ AVRE', which is information about the bottling plant and town where bottled, on the one side and 'Ers CIRIER-PAVARD, PARIS, ÉTAIN SANS PLOMB', which is information about the type of cap and seal, on the other side. This is one of six varying plates in a set matching another catalog item, a V&B cakestand or compote. Each plate is 7 1/2" in diameter. This particular plate shows a hunter with his dog
and gun. The rim is adorned with hunting gear, game and dogs. The outer edge has perhaps two flea bites or original flaws, but otherwise the condition is excellent.
The impressed mark on the back was used between 1880-1900 by the Villeroy & Boch factory in Septfontaines, Luxemburg.
