This is another French majolica plate with the cheery triangular pansy design. It is pictured on page 36 of Pierre Faveton's book "Les Barbotines". The plate is 8 1/4 inches in diameter, has the H. Boulenger marking. The plate has a crack on the edge which is approximately 3/4 inch long but which does not go though to the face of the plate. This crack can be seen on the photo on the lower right corner. Also there is some crazing. The plate is quite a lovely piece. Circa 1900.

A super vintage item for decorating your sand and sea bathroom! The colors of the beach pebbles covering this lovely jardiniere are in stylist gray and beige to rust tones. It was certainly once the centerpiece of a set of three for the mantle. Made in England - most probably by Selvag, although the markings on the bottom are impossible to read - it is in excellent condition except for a bit of damage to the glaze under the base.
