| These figures are hand-crafted wooden items from the small studio of Christian Werner in Erzgebirge, Germany. It is in this southeastern corner of Germany that so many traditional Christmas figures have found there birthplace. After mining was no longer profitable, the men of this mountainous German area turned their efforts to the production wooden toys and decorative Christmas items. Yet the figure of the miner and his protector the angel remained, even to this day, part of the tradition of the mountain folk. At Christmas time these figures still find their place on the window sills of many a home, lighting and protecting the journeys of those out on a cold winter's night. Each figure is approximately 4 inches tall with its wreath. The candles are included in the sale and can be replaced through antikhaus. | ||||||
