| This darling antique brown dress that is completely lined is all handmade with no sewing machine stitches. It is made of lovely satin with a diagonal tone in tone very wide check. The strip of fabric above the hem is black and sewn with lighter colored zig-zag thread embellishments. The other hems all have the same sewn embellishments. There is a big snappy sash with a bow at the waist. The back opening has tiny mother-of-pearl buttons that close with loops. It is approximately 23 inches long - the skirt about 14 1/2 inches and the bodice about 8 1/2 inches. The condition of this item is excellent. Little brown handmade leather shoes complete the outfit. They are not quite 4 1/2 inches long on the sole and are a bit worn on the inside. Both the dress and the pair of shoes were made for and worn by a little boy who was born in Frankfurt, Germany on November 11, 1861. They would make wonderful display pieces or could be used to dress a larger antique doll or even a sweet teddy bear. | ||||||
