The Moore Insurance Desk, Patent #263055, Jan. 8, 1878. Moore designed this desk to accommodate two workers, one sitting and one standing. The businessman sits at the writing table while his clerk works at the standing desk and passes important papers through a specific space designed for that purpose. Very Rare

The "Office Queen" made by the Moore Combination Desk Co. was designed much like a Wooton Cabinet Secretary but since it was in two parts rather than three it did not infringe on Wooton"s patent. In addition it had a sliding writing table which allowed the desk to be closed without disturbing work in progress. Extremely rare Wooton “Ladies Model” Patent Secretary in the Eastlake style. Executed in walnut with inset bird’s eye maple panels. Rare Oak Extra Grade Wooton Patent Secretary c.1874-84. Originally a special design ordered for John D. Rockefeller. Slightly smaller in scale, it has different gilt incised carvings than other Wooton desks. This desk features an ingenious system of rotating writing board supports, ebonized details, solid bronze hardware and a gold tooled leather writing surface. Both styles of extra grades were produced in very limited quantities and are much more rare and collectable today.

This design was created in response to demand for the simpler style influenced by Charles Eastlake.
