Fantastic American Victorian Renaissance Revival walnut swivel chair. These chairs are converted from old beautiful arm chairs. They are reinforced so that when one rocks back and forth in their chair they can be assured that the chair will not break. A swivel base has been added and the legs have been hand carved to fit each chair. The upholstery is done in top grain leather. These chairs are as beautiful as they are comfortable.
Standard Grade Wooton Patent Secretary in the Eastlake style, mfg. in walnut and burl or cherry wood, with ornate turnings incorporated in the gallery, c.1884. This design was created in response to demand for the simpler style influenced by Charles Eastlake. It is easy to see the contrast between the earlier fancier renaissance revival style and the later Eastlake version when shown together.
