| Fantastic, Sterling Tiffany & Co. large, ornate ice tongs in the rare Olympian patern. The form is a three talon claw on one side with the frieze of Apollo and Hermes ? at his wedding?. The bottom is a beautifully pierced plaque with the same frieze attached. he scene which is very complex six figures, two of which are gods with a wheat attribute and a lyre. It was probably designed for the Exposition Universalle, Paris 1878 by Edward C.Moore or Anoine Heller. This Beaux Arts piece weight approx. 65pwt. The initial is difficult to make out but I think it is a P. It is signed T Tiffany&co Pa. 1878. Almost 6 inches long. It is in beautiful condition. I have no polished it. ca 1880 | ||
