$550.00

Here is a well and tree platter made in England circa 1840 by Copeland and Garrett, a manufacturer associated with Spode at times. This is a meat platter: the channels, called tree, allow juices to drain into the well. The platter is in excellent condition with wear from usage, mostly on the reverse and slight buffering around the rim, but no chips, cracks or repairs. It is large and heavy and the uneven rim indicates that it was difficult to fire in the kiln and buckled slightly. The cobal ...click for details

The jug is decorated with slip and sgraffito and the matte green glaze is highlighted with gloss under the rim and on the reverse. Made in England during the Arts and Crafts era this hand-thrown jug has a sophisticated design. Measures 3-1/4 inches in height. The condition is very good with one tiny (one mm) nick out of the rim.

$180.00

The hand-painted fish and marine flora are tactile and exceptional on this Doulton jar, made in England circa 1890. The finely wrought fittings are silver plate, marked only with the number 13. The ceramic jar measures 4 inches in height and about 3-3/4 inches in diameter and has a printed mark, a faint impressed mark and the painter's cipher on the base. Originally used as a condiment jar with a fish set the jar also is appropriate for preserves, sauce or honey.

The 10-1/2 inch diameter bowl is very decorative and in excellent condition. Made in America circa 1880 the only damage is to the underside rim. The thick and thin off white stripes were applied with slip clay and are full and even. There are three stilt marks in the interior of the bowl indicating it was fired in a stack of bowls.

$120.00

An ironstone mold made in England circa 1860 with the unusual motif of an apple surrounded by leaves. When set in this mold the jelly or aspic would display the fruit at its top. The base is flat but there is no standing rim indicating this mold is fairly early and was not intended for cooked puddings. Measurements are 5 by 4 inches across the top and not quite 3 inches in height. The mold is in excellent condition with no flaws or signs of wear.

Leaves and tendrils cover the surface of this 8-1/2 inch diameter earthenware plate with a green majolica glaze. The underlying ground of the plate is speckled, characteristic of Brameld wares made at Rockingham pottery, although the plate is unmarked. Made in England in the mid-19th century and in perfect condition, with some oxidation of the glaze. I have two identical plates, with the listed price for one.

$250.00

The pitcher measures 10 inches tall to the top of the open-mouthed fish (a trout, I think) and is in mint condition. The molding is crisp and the placement of the different colored glazes is appropriate. There is no maker's mark. The mustard colored base is a little unstable due to shrinkage in the kiln; otherwise there are no flaws - no chips, cracks, hairlines or stains.

The bon-bon dish measures about 3-1/2 inches in height and 3-1/2 inches at its widest point. It sits on three feet. The shell is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs.
