A charming little pitcher or jug with a scrolled handle, made at Henriot in France circa 1950. A tiny petite Bretonne is painted under the spout. The jug measures 2-1/2 inches in height and 2-1/2 inches in diameter, and is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs.
A novelty decorative plate with molded fish face, tail and fins, hand-painted, with a gentleman holding a line in the center of the plate. The plate was made in France at Henriot in Quimper, most likely before the 1940s but possibly later. The exuberance of the form and decoration suggests a prosperous time. It measures about 9-3/4 inches from the fish face to the tail and about 9-1/2 inches from fin to fin. The plate is in mint condition.
Brightly colored hand-painted 6-inch tea plate made in France at the Henriot pottery in the 1930s. The colors are rich and deep and the motif suggests plump oranges hanging from a tree. Charming croisille manner decoration hand-painted on this embossed pedestal coffee cup and matching saucer, made by the Henriot Quimper pottery in France in the 1930s. There is a petite bretonne spinning in one panel of the cup and stylized flowers with a blue cap alternating with the croisille grid in the other panels. This beautifully hand-painted 8-inch vase was made in France by Henriot Quimper, circa 1930. The entire surface is skillfully decorated - the petite Bretonne carries a basket on one arm and has her other hand poked in the pocket of her apron. Typical floral decor around the bulbous and reverse areas, with delicate geometric patterning between. The condition is mint, with no chips, cracks, stains, repairs or crazing.
Signed with the artist's initials RG this hand-painted HB Quimper vase depicts a Breton on one side with a lush bouquet of summer flowers on the other. The vase, made in France circa 1930, measures 5 inches in height, and about 4-1/4 inches in diameter at its widest point. It is in flawless condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs, and unlike some cheaply made Quimper pieces this one is of first quality.
A box-shaped ceramic inkwell made in France by Henriot Quimper, dating circa 1930. The lids and sides of the base have floral decoration, and the well is trimmed in cobalt, as seen in the photographs. Measurements are 2-1/4 inches square and 1-7/8 inches tall. There is a flea bite flake on one corner of the base (as seen) but otherwise condition is excellent - no cracks, stains,crazing or repairs.
Mint condition Henriot Quimper master (or double) salt circa 1930, in the form of two swans. The swans measure about 3-1/2 inches from beak to tail, about 3-1/4 inches across, and 2-1/2 inches in height to the top of the round handle. There is a petit breton inside one of the swans. No chips, cracks, crazing, repairs or stains.
A 13-3/4 inch by 2-1/2 inch console bowl with exuberant floral decoration, made in France by Longwy during the Art Deco era. Longwy's signature turquoise background color is complemented by the jewel tones of the exaggerated blooms and vines. The "crazing" seen on the outside of the bowl is a deliberate ornamentation used at the time. Mint condition bud vase manufactured in the Deco era by Longwy, the French pottery. The vase measures 3-1/2 inches tall and about 3 inches in diameter at its widest part. The blue base glaze is darker than it appears in the photograph. There is a script mark stating "Longwy" and several other words that are unclear.
