A flat-backed pig made of cast iron, apparently a prototype. Dated April 1948 this may have been intended for an industrial purpose but works very well as a paperweight. The top is rough where it was attached to another pig when cast but the figure has good detail. Measures almost 4 inches in length, 2-12 inches in height, 1/2 inch in depth and weighs 14 ounces. The writing reads "First Cast/No8.11-12B.Fcs./South Wks./April 1948".
A pointing dog made of cast iron with original paint, white with black spots, a setter possibly made by Hubley though unmarked. The year of manufacture would be difficult to determine as there are no identifying marks. In very good paint with minor rubbing, and very charming. The dog measures 4-1/2 inches in length and 2-3/4 inches in height.
