| A 19thc. majolica syruper in the form of a barrel, with a pewter lid that is in perfect condition. Probably made in the US, the glaze is brown with green in the Whieldon style. The syruper measures six inches tall to the top of the knob, and 3-1/4 inches in diameter at the bottom. Like most majolica there is no identifying maker's mark. There is crazing but no stains, chips, or cracks. The handle (knocked off by me one terrible day) has been professionally re-attached and restored, as shown in the photograph. I am absorbing the cost of the restoration. | ||
