| Culture: Urartu/ Near Eastern. Date: 8th Century B.C. Material: Bronze. Condition: Complete, excellent, professionally restored and cleaned. Provenance: Ex: New Jersey private collection. Measurements: 44 inches long (111 cms), 3 7/8 inches wide (10 cms). Of hammered sheet bronze in four rows with columns of horses, winged animals, and birds, with single line edge borders, the edges perforated for attaching a leather lining. Very rare in such complete condition and quality. Cf: Lot 80, Christie's New York Antiquities Auction, 15 December 1994 (est. $15,000 - $20,000).
